V2 Security Conference
Last Tuesday, I participated in V2 Security Conference. It’s the largest expo on Cybersecurity in Denmark. Thousands of participants join to network and learn more about Cybersecurity. I was one of them, and for the first time, I got to experience what it’s like to attend such an event, so let me share my story.
Since V2 Security was happening in Copenhagen, I came well prepared in advance. First, I crashed at my friend’s place the night before. Then, Tuesday, I woke up early and went to the conference. Unfortunately, the human line stretched across the street. I waited for an hour to get in.
Once I managed to get in, they printed me a badge that I wore the whole day. Siscon ApS sponsored the badge holder. The color looked gorgeous.
I spent the first half of the day going around different vendors. I just wanted to get a feel of it. I have never been to such a big conference before.
I participated in 3 seminars throughout the day. 2 of them were dedicated to ransomware, and the last one was dedicated to Yubico keys.
I especially liked Paul Pols’ presentation from Bureau Veritas, who spoke about ransomware history. He gave a good overview of how it started and where we are today.
Bettina Vahl from Yubico did an excellent job as well. I have Yubico keys, and I believe in their product. I think passwordless authentication is just around the corner.
Overall, a great day packed with seminars and networking opportunities. I liked it, and I believe it brings tremendous value to go there.
In the future, I will come earlier. Last time I got into a venue around 11 o’clock only. Half of a day almost lost.
I promised myself to be more active with vendors. But unfortunately, there were so many of them, and I didn’t thoroughly investigate them. So next time, I will be more detailed and meticulous.
