A Swag Bag from GitGuardian
A few months ago, I received a swag bag from GitGuardian. The company representatives had a one-hour online session where they spoke about the company and its services. During the call, they randomly selected me as a winner. I usually never win any lottery. However, that day I was amazed to win something. Before diving into the bag contents, I want to talk about GitGuardian.
GitGuardian is a company located in France. On their corporate website, they sum up the company’s essence as follows: A global cybersecurity startup focusing on code security solutions for the DevOps generation. A leader in the market of secrets detection and remediation, its solutions are already used by hundred thousands developers in all industries. GitGuardian helps developers, cloud operation, security and compliance professionals secure software development, define and enforce policies consistently and globally across all their systems.
GitGuardian solutions monitor public and private repositories in real-time, detect secrets and alert to allow investigation and quick remediation.
I had a chance to see a demo of a tool, and it left an impression on me. I like how code gets analyzed, and GitGuardian displays any secrets accidentally left by developers in a very digestible manner. It also shows passwords committed and appearing in code. Overall, great tool with a lot of potentials.
Let’s now talk about the swag bag itself. It consists of a cap, Rubick’s Cube, a camera protector, thank you note, and marketing material. To me, the most beautiful thing was GitGuardian’s Rubick’s Cube. It’s different from other Cubes I had before. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to play with it, but I will with the holidays coming soon.
A camera protector is also a nice touch—especially these days when privacy is essential for people.
To summarize the experience, it was great to participate in GitGuardian’s presentation and win a prize. In addition, the quality of a swag bag is excellent—a lot of valuable items for everyday use.
